The ActiCert Food Handler Certification Course is approved and recognized by the Ministry of Health, Ontario, and is accepted by all boards of health within Ontario. ActiCert Inc. is listed as a recognized provider for in-class and online modules of the approved food handler training program.
This training and certification program provides aspirants with the opportunity to acquire detailed knowledge and understanding of food handling procedures and, upon successful completion of the requisite examination, the official Food Handler Certification. Once certified, aspirants can work in the food industry in several key areas, including storing, preparing, cooking, and serving safe-to-eat food. It is the mandatory certification required for entering and/or advancing in the food industry.
Instructors
The instructors are experienced food industry professionals and are qualified to train candidates in the standardized, ministry-approved food handler course material. They may use reference guides, online videos, class activities, and necessary evaluations to help candidates understand the course material.
Language(s) of Instruction: The course is taught entirely in English. The exam is also completely administered in English.In-Class Instructor-led Sessions:
The course is conducted at ActiCert’s Mississauga and Brampton venues. Candidates can book available dates when they register. Sessions run from approximately 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, which includes the duration for the examination. The fee for this module is CA$ 50.00.
Online Instructor-led Sessions:The course is conducted online over Microsoft Teams, and candidates can attend the session from the comfort of their home. Online sessions run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the fee is CA$ 40.00.
The course format, duration, and process remain the same for both in-class and online Sessions.
Self-Paced Video Training Course:Candidates can register and purchase the online training module. Candidates can watch the videos, attempt review questions, and finally attempt the Final Evaluation to get certified. The course fee is CA$ 30.00 plus applicable taxes.

Introduction to HACCP
The examination will be conducted at the end of the instruction sessions. The duration of the same is of approximately one hour and will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions. Passing requires a score of 35 out of 50, or 70% correct answers overall.
The successful candidates will be issued an ad-hoc certificate immediately after the examination. The final certificate will be available to be collected within 7 working days. The unsuccessful candidates will however need to reappear for the examination which will be conducted immediately after the first one.
