The Food Handler Certificate and training program provides participants with in-depth knowledge of food safety and food handling practices. Upon successfully completing the required examination, participants earn the official Food Handler Certification. Online Instructor-led Sessions:The course is conducted online via Microsoft Teams, allowing candidates to participate from the comfort of their homes. Sessions run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The online instruction-led food handler certification cost is CA$ 40.00

Students develop an awareness of their role under the Alberta Food Regulation and how to apply policies promoting Safe Food Handling procedures.
This module emphasizes requirements for flooring, walls, lighting, ventilation, and equipment installation, stressing how a properly designed facility enhances food safety.
The Food Handler Certificate course emphasizes proactive approaches to hazard prevention and control through risk assessment and monitoring.
It provides the necessary practices for maintaining clean and hygienic food premises. Students also learn pest control, such as prevention, identification, and legal obligations. Waste control is tackled through best practices in the handling, storage, and disposal of solid and liquid wastes.
The module reinforces the significance of personal hygiene among food handlers and addresses the protocols for reporting and managing communicable diseases in the workplace.
It outlines the importance of continuous learning, staff competency, and the role of managers in maintaining a culture of food safety through consistent education and leadership.
The examination will be held after the instruction sessions. It is 50 minutes in duration and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. A passing score of 35 out of 50 (70%) is required to get the Food Handler Certification. Successful candidates will receive a certificate immediately upon completion of the exam. The final food handlers certificate will be available for download via the e-learning portal where the final evaluation is conducted.
Each candidate is permitted a maximum of two attempts to pass the examination.

Yes, the food handler's certificate is only valid for 5 years. You’ll have to retake the course to renew your certificate.
